FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A clearer start to your project.
A few practical answers before our first conversation.
Where does Storm Coast work?
Storm Coast serves Greater Victoria and surrounding communities on Southern Vancouver Island. Share your municipality and project details so we can discuss fit.
What kinds of projects can I ask about?
Renovations and additions; Market Ready listing and pre-sale tune-ups; buyer renovation briefs; owner deficiency walkthroughs and reporting; project management; estimating; and project setup. See our Services page for the details.
What should I include in my inquiry?
Tell us your municipality, the spaces you want to change, your priorities, and any budget range or timing you have in mind. Mention whether you already have drawings or are at the beginning of planning.
Do I need finished drawings before getting in touch?
You can start a conversation wherever you are in the planning process. Let us know what information or drawings you already have so we can discuss the next steps.
How much will my project cost?
Cost depends on scope, the existing conditions, design choices, and the details still to be resolved. A useful first step is sharing your goals and investment range; a website alone cannot provide a reliable project price.
How long will the work take?
Timing depends on the scope, planning, approvals, material availability, and construction requirements. Discuss your desired timing during the consultation so expectations can be considered early.
Is the initial consultation complimentary?
Yes. Initial consultations are complimentary and without obligation. Every project begins with a conversation.
How do I contact Shawn?
Email hello@stormcoast.ca or call 250 858 9221. You can also use the consultation form.
Can you help prepare a home for listing?
Market Ready work focuses on agreed repairs, touch-ups, and improvements before listing or sale. Share the property’s condition and your priorities so we can define the work together.
Can you help me understand renovation work before buying?
A buyer renovation brief helps organize intended changes, scope questions, and early assumptions. Some questions may need a property inspector, designer, engineer, or other specialist before you can make a decision.
What does an owner deficiency walkthrough cover?
The agreed walkthrough records observed deficiencies and incomplete items, with photographs where appropriate, to support clear follow-up. Tell us what you need reviewed and what documentation is available.
Do you offer custom-home construction?
Custom homes are part of Storm Coast’s future direction. Contact Shawn to discuss your plans and the current fit and availability.
